Trust. Something that can be in short supply at times. And yet a trusting relationship is a crucial component in ensuring your dog and cat gets the care that you want for them. We don’t take advice from people we don’t trust, and your relationship with your vet is no different. Equally, it’s hard to truly trust someone the first time you meet then.
This is why having a relationship with your veterinarian is important when your pet is healthy, not just when your dog or cat becomes unwell. By having seen each other before, you will be a lot more comfortable when the situation becomes more stressed because your pet is unwell. Your vet will also be more comfortable with the care that you’re are expecting, and so will be able to tailor their care plan towards your specific needs much more effectively.
This is just another reason why chopping and changing your vet all the time can actually be detrimental to the care your pet receives.
